If a mirror truly gave you the reflection that you see what would be there
You hide from yourself as much as you can but never can really escape
The lines on your face and the scars seem more obvious as you stare
You often wonder when your life is actually begin to take shape

Avoiding situations because you don’t seem to fit in
Smiles are what you show so they won’t see the same
You convince yourself that this must be a result of some forgotten sin
Long, dark hours consume your mind trying to find your blame

You tell yourself to keep on hiding it and it will all go away
Consuming your mind you lose track of time and place
Life is great for everyone else so why can’t you be that way
You are reminded as you pass by the mirror and see your own face

Rest in His grace and mercy He gives freely just for you
He loves you unconditionally despite your hurt and shame
He’s patiently waiting to make all things new
Find comfort in His loving arms, you’ll never be the same
