Your Privacy Matters
Welcome to Period of Grace.
My hope is that this website will always be a place where you feel welcomed, encouraged, and comfortable exploring your faith, asking questions, and sharing what’s on your heart.
I understand that reaching out to someone, especially during a difficult season, can require vulnerability and trust. I do not take that trust lightly.
Your privacy matters to me. I believe the things you choose to share should be treated with kindness, respect, and care.
This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected when you visit Period of Grace, how it is used, and how you can contact me with questions or concerns.
Information You Choose to Share
You can read the writings and reflections on Period of Grace without submitting your name or personal information through a form.
If you choose to contact me, submit a prayer request, ask a question, leave a comment, or subscribe to new writings, you may provide information such as your name, email address, and the contents of your message.
I encourage you to share only what you feel comfortable sharing and to avoid including sensitive information that is unnecessary for your request.
Prayer Requests
Prayer is an important part of Period of Grace.
If you submit a prayer request, I will treat it with care and respect. Prayer requests are received privately and are not automatically published on the website.
I will not intentionally share or publish your personal prayer request without your permission.
Providing your name is not necessary unless you choose to do so. You may also provide an email address if you would like a response.
Questions and Contact Messages
I welcome honest questions about faith, Scripture, and everyday life.
Information submitted through the Ask a Question or Contact forms will be used to review your message and respond when appropriate.
Your name, contact information, or personal circumstances will not intentionally be published without your permission.
A question may sometimes inspire a future writing or reflection. If that happens, I may address the general subject without identifying the person who submitted it or revealing private details.
Comments
Thoughtful conversations and respectful differences of opinion are welcome.
All new public comments are subject to my approval before appearing on the website.
I reserve the right to decline or remove comments containing harassment, threats, spam, inappropriate language, personal attacks, or information that compromises another person’s privacy.
When you leave an approved public comment, your chosen display name and comment may be visible to other visitors.
Please remember that public comments are not private messages.
Subscriptions to New Writings
Visitors may voluntarily subscribe to Period of Grace to receive notifications when I publish new writings, articles, or poetry.
Subscribing is optional, and readers may unsubscribe using the instructions included in subscription emails.
Private prayer requests, submitted questions, and contact messages are not published as blog posts or sent to subscribers as new writings.
Subscription information is used for delivering the updates a reader chooses to receive and administering the subscription.
How Information Is Used
Information submitted through Period of Grace may be used to respond to questions, receive prayer requests, manage correspondence, moderate comments, deliver requested subscriptions, and maintain the website’s security and functionality.
I do not sell the personal information submitted through Period of Grace.
I do not intend to use visitors’ personal messages for advertising or marketing campaigns.
Who Can Access Your Information
Access to private form submissions is intended to be limited to my website administrator account.
WordPress.com and other service providers necessary to operate the website, process email, prevent spam, or maintain security may also process information as part of providing their services.
Private prayer requests, questions, and contact messages are not made publicly available simply because they are submitted.
How Long Information Is Retained
As a general practice, I aim to retain private prayer requests, questions, and contact messages for no longer than 90 days.
I plan to review saved submissions regularly and delete older messages when they are no longer needed. A message may be kept longer when necessary to complete an ongoing conversation, respond to a request, or meet a legal obligation.
Copies received by email are also included in my regular review.
Public comments may remain on the website unless they are removed through moderation or in response to an appropriate deletion request.
Some technical records, backup copies, and service-related information may be retained by WordPress.com or other providers under their own policies and retention requirements.
Cookies, Website Statistics, and Third-Party Services
Period of Grace is hosted through WordPress.com.
WordPress.com and its associated services may use cookies and process technical information, including IP addresses, browser information, and website activity, to operate, secure, and maintain the website.
I do not intend to add optional third-party advertising pixels, behavioral advertising tools, or separate marketing-tracking services.
Some essential services and platform-provided website statistics may still operate as part of WordPress.com.
You can adjust certain cookie preferences through your browser settings, although doing so may affect website functionality.
For more information about the platform’s privacy practices, please review the Automattic Privacy Policy.
Protecting Your Information
I take reasonable steps to manage the information submitted through Period of Grace responsibly.
My goal is to limit unnecessary access, maintain control over what is published, and respect the trust of those who reach out.
However, no website, online form, or email service can promise complete security. Please avoid submitting passwords, financial account information, confidential medical records, or other highly sensitive information.
Children’s Privacy
Period of Grace offers Christian reflections and encouragement for readers of different ages and backgrounds.
The website is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without appropriate parental involvement.
If you believe a child has submitted personal information without appropriate authorization, please contact me so the matter can be reviewed.
Your Privacy Choices
You may contact me to ask questions about information you have submitted, request a copy of information that can reasonably be identified and retrieved, or request that your personal information be deleted.
I will review these requests and take appropriate steps, subject to applicable legal requirements and technical limitations.
You may also unsubscribe from new-writing notifications at any time using the unsubscribe link in the emails you receive.
